Currently being heard in VK land with 3W into an endfed.
VK and ZL with 200mW on 30m with an endfed a couple of times. I have the TAPR 20m and 30m raspberry pi filter boards. It is also super convenient to control remotely from an ssh window.
Just hit VK6CQ, 11,545 miles from central NC, 1 watt to a dipole at 35 ft.....some kind of magic going on here.
It's amazing what the digital modes can do, I wish FT8 was as sensitive as JT9.
Check the pics on my QRZ page. I also run a Raspberry Pi WSPR transmitter. A few times I have hit Europe and Australia at the same time with 100mW into a wire antenna. WSPR is a fun mode to play around with!
Some 16000km+ results with 200mW on 7 MHz and a kite-supported vertical
I've found that I seem to have a 30m window to the Canaries and New Zealand almost every evening at about 7PM local.
VK6CQ (11,545 mi) and ZS6BOQ (8,147 mi) on 40 M, 2216 UTC, 1 watt, dipole at 35 ft AGL.
My best WSPR report to date. Using an OCFD, 30+ elevation and a QRP Labs U3S @ 5 watts on 20 mtrs.
