So tonight on 20M I get this qso: 211945 -16 0.2 1194 ~ N3DT JJ8DEN -13 212004 Tx 1700 ~ JJ8DEN N3DT R-16 212030 Tx 1700 ~ JJ8DEN N3DT R-16 212045 -20 0.2 1144 ~ N3DT JJ8DEN RR73 212100 Tx 1700 ~ JJ8DEN N3DT 73 And then WSJT-X reports this in my .adi <call:6>JJ8DEN <gridsquare:0> <mode:3>FT8 <rst_sent:3>-16 <rst_rcvd:3>-04 < If you didn't notice I never got a -04 report from the contact, it was -13. As far as I know that was the only exchange I ever had with this guy. I've seen this report stuff before. And what's with the JA hams not wanting to give out their grid square? Whine over.
DAVE, YOU OLE CW RASCAL. CONGRATS ON YOUR MANY YEARS OF HAM RADIO. 73 & HAVE A FUN FILLED WEEKEND K1LKP
I see that often. If you'll look back in your log you'll probably see a broken or incomplete QSO with -04. Since the JJ 'broke sequence' it kinda messes things up. Its only an annoying glitch. Maybe they'll fix it...someday.
Nope, it's not in my all.txt either. The only references to JJ8DEN are the few around the time I worked him. Yes, I've seen this stuff before and corrected it in the log.adi. Now whats in the other guys report, I don't know, I only use lotw and it's not worth the time to keep records of these things and see if I get confirmations. But I may start, just to see what happens. Near as I can tell it only happens when I get a 'cold' call from a station without the grid square. Actually I had answered a UA0ZAM at the start of the time period and then got the JJ call which I immediately switched to after maybe 2 seconds. But he too was a -16. There are some funny things going on here and there. The grey line propagation from the east coast to eastern Russia, Japan, NZ and OZ seem to be fairly good this week at least for the evening one here, about 6pm local on 20M but I still have to use some power they're not 50W QSO's. Using a 20M dipole at 70'. Once in a while I can get into the area with 50W but that's usually the BFGs from NZ.
-100 to -25 No Copy -24 to -20 U are WAY WAY DOWN in the Noise, but good enough for a QSO -19 to -15 Kinda weak -14 to -11 Previously known as "Q5" -10 to -04 Really good copy -03 to +05 POUNDING IN above +06 You must be running the KW!! I remember one QSO where I sent a -22 and got back a +22!!! Hard to figure that one!
During a pileup it eliminates up to 1/3 of the exchanges. Think of it as being polite to those waiting in line. Never ascribe to malice and all that. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean the other person is being rude. From their viewpoint they could be being nice and helping out.
