You won't be able to use it on the tty roundup unless you update. It's free, what's the problem.

I got rid of the error message but the frequency still stays red which never done before unless I was out off band, plus the drop down box for band selection no longer works. Rig control is fine.

What's the tty Roundup and why would I want to use it? Not everyone cares about contests. I installed the 2.0 next to my trusty JTDX 1.8 - I saw it average 7old to 1new.

Ya know .... the more I read "the zed" forums, the more ashamed I become of our peer group. It wasn't always like this. Sheesh ... upgrade already ... or don't. *Somebody* will talk to you on the bands either way! See? N4CC gets it!!

I just when back to version 1.8 rc1, anything else will not function properly for me. Once its unusable then I will change to something else.

We'll be sorry to see you go. :)
Like what? People not wanting to be forced to upgrade a working piece of software? That exists anywhere there are computers.

I'm just opining like the rest of you. Trying to flame a guy for an opinion ("you're part of the problem") isn't a hallmark of a good peer group. I read these forums ... I'm saddened by how hams treat one another. It's not what we're about ... but hey, you can be as sorry as you like .. I ain't going anywhere. I didn't know operators of these hands-off modes were so emotional. <LOL> I'll keep it in mind.

Just installed V2.0.0 on my radio station dedicated XP machine without the SSL add-on. I get the pop-up complaint about an incompatibility with LoTW (which I don't use) but everything seems fine -- rig control & receive and transmit working. Lots of decodes - 40M is very busy as I type this.

The User guide mentions XP compatibility.

    2. System Requirements
    • SSB transceiver and antenna

    • Computer running Windows (XP or later), Linux, or OS X

    Also this:

If you cannot install the OpenSSL libraries or do not have an Internet connection on the computer used to run WSJT-X 2.0, you can download the LoTW file manually. Go to https://lotw.arrl.org/lotw-user-activity.csv in a web browser, download the file, then move it to the WSJT-X log files directory. This directory can be opened by selecting File | Open log directory.

Sorted out the red frequency issue and the band drop down box. Had to go to Settings, Frequencies and right click in the box and select "reset" and all started working as it should :)

My 2 cents...rethink your position. Adoption is incredibly high only one day after release. Continue to wait and you'll be decoding very little.

Currently running a steady 16 contacts/hour on 40m using 1.9.1. I'm not seeing any slowdown from this time yesterday.

@KG4IXS is taking a very reasonable approach according to what I'm seeing on the waterfall.

At least there are two guys in the 2.0 lane, so they'll each have somebody else to talk to. :D
