FINALLY......had to change mode from USB data to USB! and right freg mode! THANKS K3DCW
Triple check that the soundcard setting in WSJT-X is the same for receive and for transmit, and that you've selected the correct sound card (depending on your setup).
HRD isn't involved in the decoding part of the equation, just rig control.
Here's an explanation of how to set the mode you need . http://g8yph.blogspot.com/2015/04/digimodes-on-yaesu-ft-450d.html?m=1
Just remember when you want to use non digital modes you need to set it back to RTTY.
I have same radio and scu-17 and a windows 10 laptop. WSJT-X version 1.9 it was decoding then quit so I uninstall the 1.8 version and reinstall 1.9 version now with the audio set to usb codec the waterfall signals drop off to nothing even with 40+db . and no decode I am ready to throw it out the window, I have tried all suggestions ..
Dont, give up and don't suffer in silence.. Call me (send an e mail (look it up here) and I will send you my cell number. ) Load teamviewer 13 and have manual to rig handy. We WILL get you going. I have helped dozens to get on the air with WSJT-x. I can help you too.

I have found my version1.8.0-rc3 of WSJT-X sometimes will not decode even though I see traces in the waterfall. Sometimes I have to re-start it, sometimes I change modes and then back and then it starts. I get a few other little glitches too, especially when changing bands and it's not connected to CAT, but I just have to keep an eye on what it's doing.
Make sure your computer clock is accurate to within a second or two.
It's not my clock. That works fine, although I see others once in a while that are more than a second off. Once in a while I see a station that just will not decode, I can see on the waterfall their clock is way off.
