There has to be a simple answer to this: WSJT V. 2.1.2; default set up transmits TX4 and TX5 macros, which both include "73". I vaguely recall reading that this redundancy is unnecessary in contesting and that by putting WSJT into "contest mode" [NA VHF contest] would eliminate to sending of both "call sign, call sign RR73" [TX4] and "call sign, call sign 73" [TX5]. I turned on "contest mode" and both TXs are still there. Isn't there a way to turn either TX4 or TX 5 off? Thanks.

I believe the sequence of which is picked is from who initiates the QSO.

If you call CQ and someone answers you then you send "RR73" and their reply is "73".

If you answer someone else calling CQ then they send "RR73" and the reply from you is "73".
