Yaesu is not Chinese.
I think you should re read the thread again. We were talking about the chinese th9800. I wasnt talking about the yaesu.
I quoted what you said. "I hate this about Chinese radios". I took it as you were implying that only Chinese radios have the microphone jack on the control head. I was just pointing out that is not the case. My bad.
For a lot of reasons I try to avoid buying anything made in China. There are plenty of big 3 radios (Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu) that can be found economically used. I prefer them. One has to be a little careful however since the Japanese have some of their radios produced in China
I do it all the time. Mis read and have to go back and reread it. I didnt mean to sound mean either. Its hard to convey any quality emotion or human connection through text.
The only thing I know about this radio is that it exists:
the one negative review comes from someone who does not know what he's doing.
for VHF/UHF, i prefer Yaesu, Kenwood, or Icom
...in that order
the programming ease, quality and customer service makes them worth spending a few bucks more than some amazon chinese rig
