Need to determine if the Yaesu FT-890 can be controlled via Winlink Express - that specific model is not in the pull-down menu in the latest version of that software. Will one of the other radio models listed work - e.g. FT-847, 891, etc.? Would like to know before spending $ on an interface box.
I have found that using FT-847 works to control the radio frequency. I have had the radio working on FT8 without an interface box with a Lenovo laptop using an audio cable into the data in/out plug to send the audio to the radio, but am still working on it for Winlink. Perhaps with a sound card interface it would be easier. BTW, I am using the USB-61 CAT control cable from RT Systems.
