It would be helpful to be able to do wildcard callsign lookups. I had a station I would have liked to work today but I simply couldn't understand the second letter of his call. Every time he gave his call to other stations he'd go through the first part non-phonetically, very quickly and with a heavy accent, and only use phonetics for the last three letters of his call. I eventually figured it out after a 1/2 hour of just listening, but it would have been nice to have been able to enter the parts of his call I did understand, with a wildcard character for the one part I couldn't get, and get a short list of stations that matched that possible call. He was giving his first name, so it would have been easy to pick out of a short list.

I won't try and work a station until I've listened a bit, and already know his call, so I didn't make that contact.
