WWA's own site calls this the "World Wide Award Sprint 2025" (https://hamaward.cloud/wwa/award). I always thought "sprint" was a term for a type of contest. Mixed messaging going on here in regard to this "event."

I just looked at their rules.

I cannot and will not support activities like this, they're even on 30 meters.

Any organization or group that encourages activities like this on the WARC Bands should be avoided.

I encourage others to adopt the same attitude moving forward, we need to put a stop to these somehow.

I completely supported this event until I looked at their rules.

We are so fortunate to have the WARC bands, however these kind of things violate the spirit of that.

I know many amateurs were not around when we received those valuable bands, it was under the assumption that they wouldn't be used for Point Gathering Activities.

Those are you the don't understand why, may need to set back and read some history.

At the time the new WARC bands helped build some good Bridges between organized point Gathering, and general amateur operation.
    That Goodwill is being lost

Break out the Wouff Hong and begin to apply it liberally.

I was QRV as SM5/N9EN between 19 June and 08 July at a very prominent Swedish ham's QTH, where I was staying. His station was much better than my set-up here in NE Tennessee. In that time, I made 705 QSOs and I did not work even one WWA station. I would get on a frequency and call CQ. Sometimes it would take a few minutes to attract the attention of the EU stations, but after a while, there would be no shortage of hams calling me.

As is the case here in the United States, while in Sweden, I heard very few hams calling CQ. I'd tune around, listening for hams calling CQ and usually finding none, I'd call CQ myself.

Since returning to the United States and finding very few calling CQ, I have begun the practice of calling CQ (DX) myself. As in Sweden, it sometimes takes a few minutes to attract attention, but after a while there are usually no shortage of callers.

    Thank you.
