For all the little bits and pieces you might need for amateur radio, you pretty much have the option of buying overpriced stuff from the Big Three ($70 for usb cable!?), or stuff that is legitimately higher in cost because it is pretty much made by hand one at a time in a glorified garage. MFJ gives you an alternative. BTW, I have always been dubious of the adage, 'You get what you pay for.' It is often enough that price and quality do not go hand-in-hand. And even when they sort of do, something priced 10 times higher than the cheaper alternative is rarely 1000% better.
