    I need some help with this;
    When applying cw drive to the grounded grid thunderbolt. There is a sizzling sound coming from the right hand side of the amplifier in the rf deck near the rf safety choke or underneath in the rf section near the tubes. when i key up it continues to sizzle like frying eggs.
    Then smoke comes from the plate choke in the ranger. When disconnected from the amp the ranger continues to run perfectly into a dummy load as before.
    Does the amplifier have Gassy tubes? Bad Rf choke? Bad plate choke? Bad Filament choke? I just had it apart and dont see any obvious signs of melted components and the voltages are ok. It idles quitetly with at 120ma on the plate at 3000v. It just dosent like Rf and it is killing the ranger but i dont know why.

    Never mind i figured it out I had a momentary short between the chair and the key board operator error.
