I have a long piece of LMR 240 flex that did exactly that in less than 3 years. Must be intended for placement in conduit ;)

I'm fighting a squirrel problem now. They are perching on my windowsill and knawing on the coax sheath near my window feed-through. I sprinkled some hot sauce on the coax today and watched one squirrel decide he didn't like coax after all. It remains to be seen if this will deter them long-term.

In the UK one has got to search for coax seal. Insulation tape is no good. It either peels back away and hangs off.
