Styx sang it best:
Our house is our biggest single investment. The HOA with its covenants, help protect this investment. I like living in a well maintained community.
Also, those of you suffering from inadequate antennas, build yourself a W5GI Mystery Antenna. The world will be at your doorstep and you won't need any of those fancy towers, beams and the like.
I live in SoCal. Two new developments near me advertise on huge bill board - Free Solar, No HOA as selling points.
K6CID - Colin
I notice those as big selling points also around here (also So. Cal.).
We have local apartment buildings now (for the past couple of years) advertising: "Move in, you'll never pay an electric bill!" as they have big solar installations and the management covers whatever electric bills the complex gets, so no one has an individual bill no matter how much power they consume.
"The way of the future..." I hope.
There's no HOA where I live, yet we have a well maintained community.
I live in an HOA. I also have VHF/UHF antennas on my roof, as well as wire antennas in my trees and a 3 element tribander on a guyed mast at 34'. No issues.
Honestly, I don't want or need a 70' tower with multiple beams. This is a hobby I enjoy, not a total and complete lifestyle. I have other interests besides ham radio as well, so no "soul selling" is going on.
This was the view at the end of my driveway yesterday. I like living here.
Oh boy. Another HOA thread. Yippeeee Skippeeee!!!!
Does the W5GI Mystery Antenna work the same way as Marvel Mystery Oil!!
He should have thought about it prior to signing the agreement and purchasing the property. Due diligence works wonders!
Nothings works like mystery oil
