Just what we need...the 27th "gloating" post on this subject.
You call it gloating. I call it enthusiasm.
I've got all my ham gear spread out. Most of it has not been set up in ages since I moved last and packed it all away. Now I'm enthused about working the bugs out of my SG-2020 radio mobile installation and will be ordering a warbler kit to build once I get my 2M packet set-up back on the air (might be moving it to HF!)
2 months ago I was so bummed out about the hobby that I had been ignoring emails from the local heads of the PSE's who had been asking me to participate and volunteer my time.
Now, I've got my VX-5R programming up to date and my Alinco DR605T's and I even have the second 2M mobile rig set back up again (Yaesu FT-1500) to use in my GF's auto when we take that someplace (Mazda Miata -not enough room for anything bigger)
Is that a bad thing? What you call "gloating" is actually the ARS coming off of flat-line. It's a heartbeat -not gloat!
