Hi all again..and hello to once fellow Mainer Dave WB1CDG..yup it is hot & steamy here and the only reason I commented was that it's not the usual weather in Maine..yes I was licensed in early '77..the original novice license is downstairs in the shack somewhere..the main reason I posted is maybe to encourage those who never have to try AM..it is in no way tuff to figure out..in most of the modern rigs like the 7300 it's just a button selection and reducing carrier out to say 25 watts..one rig I used to own allowed full power on AM..the Icom 706..why or how that rig cud do that I have no clue..most have to be dialed down and ur much better off with an SWR of 1:1:1 to avoid ALC interaction..if you want there's always "boatanchor" rigs..but that's ur choice on that..for those really wanting to "try it out" there is another forum/website tailored to AM..the AM Forum..give it a try !! 73 de DAVE WB1EAD

See, it pays to keep the old log books. Recently put them near the operating desk. Go to them often.

I made some AM QSOs on 10 M back when the band opened a lot , was on a FT99o I had for a dozen years, just retired.
Also worked some FM on 10 M.

Don't think I have seen a ratio expressed like 1 to 1 to 1 before.
