Because this is how I sound when I try to use a microphone, that's why.
CW is faster than TXTing
Because it’s FUN!
An excellent reply. A reason is not a requirement.
Most fun I've ever had with my clothes on.
It's still my preferred mode, after 54 years in amateur radio.
And there's no shortage of activity. There is often a shortage of propagation, however.
I READ YOUR QRZ PAGE.......BRAVO......GREAT PAGE.
I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS LINK.
HERE IS ANOTHER VERY INTERESTING LINK AND YOU
MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIND TONY'S OLD QSL CARD.
I ENJOYED LISTENING TO THE BORING CONVERSATION YOUTUBE.
IT'S WHEN HE SAID "SITUATION NORMAL" THAT I DID LOL....LOL...
IN THE SERVICE WE USED TO USE THE EXPRESSION SNAFU
"SITUATION NORMAL ALL FOWLED UP"...........HIHIHI....
"NFG" NOT FUNCTIONING GOOD .......HIHIHI......
I get asked this from time to time. Especially, from non hams.
I'm going with the above answer; "it's fun". I have no illusion that I am going to save the world because CW is the only sig that will make the contact.
The learning process was enjoyable and it's just a fun challenge. That's what hobbies are suppose to be; fun!
Thanks, Carmen, the print is small and the scans won't magnify enough, anyways K6CEO said enough, thanks
Here's a reason: I just worked Jack K6ZMF on 40CW. He's 77, which isn't all that old, but was just getting back into CW after what may have been a long break.
Sending: Not good, but good enough.
Copying: It took me sending my call 7 times before he actually got it. (Signals 599 both ways.)
But...this is part of the fun! I hear more and more ops who are pretty old "just getting back on" (maybe after retirement, or whatever) and CW is what they use.
