When are the good openings coming back...
WOW!! You worked all continents today! I take it back, Goober
I guess that depends upon your definition of "country." Here in the USA we recognize only about 195 countries. Dunno what criteria the ARRL uses (or what you use) but I suspect that "The Dominion of Martha's General Store and Bordello in Timbuktu" likely does not qualify.
The "good" band openings are planned to open again on February 31'st. Be sure to mark your calendar.
You could reword your question by asking what's the point in getting all excited over an oil painting when we have DSLR cameras nowadays. After all, it takes so long to make that painting and is such a handicap over simply pushing a shutter button.
Good point. I guess da Vinci, Rembrandt, and van Gogh were born too soon, eh?
It takes two things to recgonize good band conditions:
1. Good signal propagation
2. A number of people who get actively involved in radio
Getting both of those things to happen may not ever occur again. I hope that is not thecae.
Curiously, I have heard folks at some distance, on 75M at near noon. Probably 200-300 miles.
