    My Yagi-Wind direction indicator-Flag combo!

Bitter, Windy Pennsylvania’s Mt. Davis yesterday. I managed to eek out 4 QSOs for SOTA activation points and get back to my warm Jeep!

I next hiked up and activated Laurel Ridge a half hour away from Davis.
    I used a 2m Jpole, 6m endfed and FT818. No activity on 6m but I keep trying!!!

I read an article about PA Timber Rattlers’ a couple days ago. They wake up in Spring! I treaded carefully....

I keep trying on 6m FM too, but no luck except for that one opening back in March or when I coordinate with someone else.

BTW, nearly 20 years ago on Flagpole Knob, I had to kill a particularly stubborn timber rattler that would not leave our camp alone. I hated doing it, but there about 10 of us at that camp, so lots of feet tromping around just waiting to get bit. Nowadays we do most of our camping from late fall to early spring and don't have to worry much about snakes.

Without hopefully jinxing myself. Wild animals were something I was thinking about hiking down yesterday. In the 100+ hikes I’ve done since starting SOTA many out west I haven’t encountered any dangerous. I saw one garter snake and lots of Turkeys, grouse, deer. I possibly saw a Mountain Lion duck it’s head behind a rock in WY. It was just a flash! I’ve seen 4 black bears hiking all before I started SOTA. All took off when seeing me.

The craziest thing I’ve experienced was a Mountain goat and it’s kid walk up and munch on my Antenna on Sacajawea Peak in MT! I have to say they are bigger than you think and have crazy sharp horns! Ha!

NJ2BB Battleship New Jersey museum ship is on the air tday on 14049.
599 into Ohio and worked him easily with 5 watts from Columbus...
A special event station so it's much more than a 599 TU Contest QSO!

A nice day yesterday so took the station on the bike to a local pier.

Made a variety of CW and SSB contacts, all on 40m.

Your FT817 looks “battle worn” super cool!

Yesterday I cycled down to the local sewage farm.

Heard a USA beacon on 10m & worked some European DX on 40 & 20m.

I loved the AM listening, including "C'mon Eileen" and "All Night" and "New Kid in Town" and "Bright Sun Shining Day"

I missed your antenna in the video. What were you using?

Hello Alan, sorry for the late response. I have just found your post. I used Xiegu G90 with 20 watt power on those activations. Now I got Xiegu X5105 for SOTA activations. Thanks for chasing me. 73 Yakov
