I saw a thread on here regarding power output for PSK31, I'd like to know what my power setting should be when using Olivia. Also, I haven't heard any stations using this mode lately but I've heard its getting more popular and I want to be ready when I can hear a station running Olivia.

    Whatever it takes.

Olivia is quite easily detected in the noise, and most of time our MARS members here use 50W PEP, but from time to time I've been stuck on frequencies where it took 500 watts. The frequency assigned may be a poor one with no good alternates, or other net members will have local QRM (for example, BPL, which it appears MT-63 works better on) only a better TX antenna or higher power can overcome.

Olivia is 100 percent duty cycle, so watch your TX. As with PSK I'd say 10 watts is fine - if you have detected the incoming signal I'm sure you will be heard using 10 watts.
