Silly Cotton Pick'in Chicken Chopper!
Sennheiser e835....... Gets great unsolicited audio reports
Ten-Tec 708 with a Ten-Tec OMNI V. I like the two way PTT switch.
In the shack, particularly on AM, I prefer the full range sound with slight pre-emphasis of an Audio Technica ATM61HE.
For my mobile, where I want background noise cancellation with LF roll-off and a nice upper-mid boost for clarity, I use an Astatic 636L dynamic. (and I have several of them)
I don't care if they are sold as a 'CeeBee' mic... it is a darn good sounding, heavy duty mic at a reasonable price.
I use A Heil PR40 on a boom with a hand switch and the Pro 7 headset for DX Works well with my FT2000, I receive great audio reports, pricey but well worth it.
A re-purposed Rode NT2A
What I'm using most of the time today is a Heil Pro Set Elite. Light and comfortable...not too expensive...works fine.
Heil Pro 7 in the field.
Heil PR781G on a boom in the shack.
That is a nice errrr Mic!
Actually is a very beautiful keyer.
I have a couple of several hundred dollar Heil mics and a <$50 Yamaha CM500 headset and the CM500 sounds better than the Heil's.
