The blue word in your post acts as a link to a Chicago Tribune link about a doctor and covid, but a paywall popup stops all that Screenshot_20210109-120155.png

    No biggie

That's a crazy way to go. Thanks for the link, I feel bad for his family.

Perhaps a by-product of rushing things through?

What emergency? All TV's, radio stations, and cellular are all working just fine. Hams are not needed in any way, but that is not to say ham radio cannot be useful.

It's a hobby and a good way to kill time doing absolutely nothing. Since the virus broke where I live the Boredom Breaker Net was created and caught fire running every day with check-ins from all over the world. In my area, some 8 repeaters linked together. The last time I listened in had over 20,000 check-ins since created back in April and the Net can run 4 to 6 hours on a busy day. Makes for a good nap like watching golf or baseball on TV. A whole lot of nothing going on until something happens, wakes you up and grabs your attention.

Possibly. What normally takes years has been compressed into a few months.

    Hmm....Good question.

I'd say it's helping out about as much as any other hobby, like maybe restoring old cars, knitting, making pottery, or stamp collecting!

Keeps you home, away from others, maybe in the basement, garage......So YEAH! It's "helping" !!

    Cheers,

    Rick
