    Hi Folks,

I am new to the website and trying to fill out a logbook. It is requiring information in a couple of zones. One is a CQ zone and the other is another type of zone. The logbook closed out.

    Thank you,

    Lonnie

Hi Lonnie - welcome to QRZ!!

CQ zones and ITU zones are merely designations of where in the world you are located. CQ zones are for "CQ contests" (CQ is a former ham radio magazine that had a very popular contest calendar every year - the magazine is gone but the contests still carry on). Same pretty much for ITU zones - mostly used for contesting and some awards.

You can look up your zones here: https://www.mapability.com/ei8ic/maps/maps.php

But if you live in Springfield, you are in CQ Zone 4 and your ITU zone is 8. If you plan to operate in other areas, use the map to look yourself up.

Unless you get into contesting or chasing awards, you won't ever need these numbers for anything other than filling them in on your logging page.
