    The "half-life" of the amateur population that knows Morse, or real amateurs, is much longer than of the "no-coders".

    European 3-year attrition rates of "no-coders" are in the 80-90% range, but a majority of those licensed in the 1970/80s which were Morse tested are still around today.

    If one had to make some effort to get a call-sign, it becomes much more valued.

    Those are only in EPA. Harrisburg has always been biased against WPA.

    If one has to make some effort to erect an antenna....
    Erecting an acceptable antenna in the old days was a POC, EP, NP. A piece of cake, easy peasy, no problemo.

    Yeah a short chain with the number of links equal to the days you had left. You cut one link off each day.
