I got into this hobby a long time ago and have done so many enjoyable and educational things over most of those years, it is difficult to pick a favorite. It is great to have a hobby that is multi faceted, if one facet becomes a bit jaded, then we can turn this gem a bit and find another facet that piques our interest. The beauty of a hobby where a person never truly stops learning or having fun while learning adds up IMHO A SUPERB hobby:) BTW, no puns intended,LOL;>) And I did my share of FDs, ran them for a club I was a member of but had to quit due to family illnesses and need for caregiving for them, still am semi active and plan to put up something for an antenna this Spring I hope:) Nice to have a forum for just us YLs:)! Sorry if I am rambling a bit perhaps but it is pretty late and just was checking my email,LOL:) 73 to all here, nice to be part of this hobby too, lots of good folks in it IMO:)

Hi Lisa and all the YLs,

Iam a new ham and it was a struggle passing the exam.. Glad its over !
There was just a few of us in the ham class and all of us ladies passed!

Hope this is a place I can ask questions on some of the things I found confusing.

Hey Charla. Welcome to the fold - and congrats on your new license! (Also means I'm that much farther from being the newest ham here.... <g>)

Now, if this crummy propagation would only resolve itself!
    Cheers,
    Bev

Thank you Bev and Lisa for the warm welcome to the YL. I am getting involved with our local ECO and know it will help me get more comfortable on the radio. Sill a little slow with the phonetic alphabet. Getting to tie a voice, name to a call sign and face really helps me.
