This Maker’s Corner is great! Thanks for adding it. There’s a good crossover between ham radio and the maker space, and it will help with getting younger people interested, an also help teach new tricks to some of us old dogs.

Thanks, Fred for making this addition to QRZ. Yes, many of us are tinkerers by nature. We have several Ender models and Ultimakers for filament (FDM) production and AnyCubic for resin (sla) prints. If I might suggest some resources for software, there are many out there but these are the ones we use:

For modeling: Thingiverse - Digital Designs for Physical Objects searchable pre-created and downloadable stl's.
Tinkercad- https://www.tinkercad.com/ create your own models and download the stl.
Lithophanes Image to Lithophane Generator (lithophanemaker.com) These really are neat.

For slicing FDM: Ultimaker Cura: Powerful, easy-to-use 3D printing software for slicing the stl's to generate G-code for your FDM printer.

For slicing SLA: All-in-one SLA/DLP/LCD Slicer-CHITUBOX Free Download for slicing stl's to generate G-code for SLA printers (use the Photon option).

There are more out there, but these are some of the easier to understand, manipulate and apply.
    Have fun!

This is great to find here. I just received my Enders 3Pro Saturday. It is assembled. Tonight, I hook up the power.

    should be fun

I think this is becoming the Ender 3 Pro thread. ;)
I just did a couple of upgrades to mine this past weekend, the aforementioned leveling spring mod and an improved control board (32bit vs. 8, silent servo control, and easier firmware upgrades). My test print was a different knob for the G90.
Now I have to find more stuff to print.

Allow me to throw a wrench into the works...o_O

I'm running an AnetA8, and as a new Ham I'm happy to see one of my other addictions...err...hobbies being discussed. I've done a little design in Fusion360 and Tinkercad, but not much. I figure I'll be using my printer for something radio related as soon as I can decide how I want to set everything up.

Not all of us have all of the money that Fred does. o_O We have to settle for the Ender 3 Pro. But it is a great stater kit.

There is a weak link on the Ender 3. The connector to the Hot Plate needs to be replaced or removed.

The original connectors (That make assembly easy) going to the hot plate get hot because of resistance.

I found this out the hard way. My smoke detector warned me. I could not see the smoke, But my smoke detector smelled it. (Kind of like making toast.)

The best fix is to just solder the wires together , Heat shrink them up. Ditch the easy disconnect, Unless you take your printer apart those 2 connectors are not needed.

For more stuff to print, Try some nuts and bolts. See it they fit together, And how far your printer is out of calibration.

Just for test, Nuts and bolts take very little material, You can infill at 20 % or so, Just to check Thread Fit.

Have Fun Everyone. Don't go nuts trying to print perfect nuts. :)

I would add CNC engraving to the subforum title. same crowd, same technology, PCB board making - a perfect fit.

I sure wish I had that sub to SolidWorks....

    Software Tip,
if you're not a CAD specialist but like to construct 3D parts
rs-components has a good free software, only registration required.
    https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/mechanical-software-de
construction is simple, wysiwyg and can export models to 3d software (cura)
