I'm wanting to program a logger for macOS. There seems to be way too few and a lot that I've seen either cost or are outdated. I want to develop an open source (BSD 2-clause license) FCC DB search as well a logger that will use SQLite as it's local database.

I'm fairly new to programming. Currently teaching myself C (because let's face it, C is king) and Swift (Pretty much the only decent way to program with Cocoa (Objective-C will be left hanging soon)).

I'm wanting to know if there's some kind of API key that I may need to obtain from the FCC to use their database. If I'm going to be looking up call signs and the sort.

I'm in the process of searching but haven't found anything as of yet.

No key or any other form of license is required to download and access the FCC's license database.

I was just unsure if the FCC had a policy to have a program use its database.

Similar to how Google Earth is freely available but to incorporate it into an app, you need an API key. That's why I was wondering.
