Arvil Kenneth “Kenny” Guthrie was an employee of General Electric Company in Lynchburg, Virginia in their Mobile Radio Department.

He was an expert in radio, electronics and especially on the behavior of lightening, thunderstorms and their effects upon electronic/radio systems.

He was a dedicated ham who loved to teach and guide fellow hams.

His son, Steven Kenneth Guthrie followed in his father's footsteps and became a ham as well (first WN4ZEH, WB4ZEH and later KK4J).
