I regret to inform that my friend and an elmer to many, Jim Heath, is now a silent key. He passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Monday December 22.

Goodness. Sorry to hear that. Seemed like a lovely human and a great representation of amateur radio to the public. I've watched and enjoyed his videos. Rest in peace, Jim!

I knew this day was coming, but still I find it shocking. Ham radio has lost a great Elmer and I'm going to miss his YouTube videos.

 

So sorry to hear this sad news. He looked like he was nearing the end, and he seemed to have rallied a bit near the end. So sad for his family and the ham community. He was a true gentleman and intellectual

 

Another big loss in the Amateur community.

I have watched (and learned from) his videos on a few occasions. He was truly gifted.

Very sad. RIP Jim.

 

I really enjoyed Jim's videos. He had conviction and a great depth of knowledge but at the same time taught it in such a non-pretentious, humble, and welcoming way. I heard him on the air before wrapping up with someone else but he said he was going QRT. I regret not trying to contact him anyways just to say thanks!

 

He was one of the greatest Elmer's ever. We should all strive to be like Jim. The only good news here is that thanks to modern internet technology, Jim can continue to Elmer us from the great beyond (where QRN is non-existent).

Condolences to you Vince and the Heath family, Jim was the first amateur radio channel I got into on YouTube and was of the reasons I started my own channel.

I am saddened to hear of Jim’s passing and offer my sincere condolences to his wife, family and friends.

He was an inspiration to the hobby and provided so much knowledge and insight to everyone that was either fortunate enough to speak with him or watch his invaluable You Tube channel.
