I'm just one person and I can't provide support for the actual individual software components on the image. I'd suggest following up with Xastir-specific software forums and/or the Raspberry 4 for Ham Radio group on groups.io. There should be some people who can help there.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll add it to the 3.0 version of the image I'm currently working on.

    73,

    -Dave, W3DJS

Update: I've added it and tested it successfully in the latest image version I'm working on.

    Hello Dave,
    Thanks for your job.
I have just made the 32Gb card, using Win32DiskImager under windows 7 and works like a charm on RPi4 4Gb.
Before eject the card, I have added the empty ssh filetext at the root of the card to permit a ......ssh connexion ( :) ) at first boot
Thanks to the forum, I got the RPi ok on my home network ( I was confused with the hotspot dand did not understand why the dhcpcd.conf file was empty :) it is always the first file I edit when run a RPI card for the 1st boot. Maybe a readme file could be a good idea).

I will install at first step : ( maybe some ideas for your future V3 ... ;) )
    DSD FastLane

RTL_433 ( receive meteo stations and some other devices such as the tires pressure of the cars on the road in front of my home :) , funny...

Kalibrate ( or calibrate ) to get the PPM correction to apply on the USB Sticks.

for ADSB ModeSmixer2 and Virtual Radar Server (VRS) ( search google)

For pocsag, a beautfyull job : see https://github.com/pagermon/pagermon

Another application about pocsag Flex hermes and so on exists, but I met some bugs ( with Python and PHPmyAdmin in there new versions), and stopped to work around.

    Thanks again,
    73,
    Regards from France,
    Jean-Philippe

    Hi Again.

I needed to upgrade my HackRF one since it was in a drawer since years.:eek:
I got some error about the compiler.( Cmake .. errors path etc.)

The solution is : apt install gcc-arm-none-eabi
after this install you can run the Cmake to obtain the firmware file .bin

I propose another pleasant app to get remotely infos about the system : WEBADMIN (sourceforge)
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    sudo apt-get install perl libnet-ssleay-perl openssl libauthen-pam-perl libpam-runtime libio-pty-perl apt-show-versions python
wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin_1.890_all.deb ( or newer version)
    sudo dpkg --install webmin_1.890_all.deb

    access via http://IP:10000 or hostame:10000

do not worry about ssl message ( invalid certificate)

    Hope that could be usefull.

    73 !
    Jean-Phi

i am trying to flash the file to my sd card, the file name after unzipping is "W3DJS Raspberry Pi Ham Radio Image v2.0.tar.bz2(1)" if I take off the(1) it changes to a file folder with the image and two readme files in it. when I try to flash the image I keep getting an error message about it being corrupt. I dont know what to do.

Hi John. If this week continues to go without incident, I expect to release HamPi 1.0 image this weekend. I will post the announcement here on QRZ forums as well as Raspberry Pi 4 Ham Radio group on groups.io

    Jean-Philippe,

Thank you for reaching out to me. Please file each of these requests --individually-- at https://github.com/dslotter/HamPi/issues and I will investigate and get to them when I can.

What is the process to add a local wifi network to the device? I want to keep the hotspot functionality when the Pi is away from my network, but connect to my network with it is in range. I tried adding my network info to /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf but it is still not connecting to my local network.
