    William G. Farmer, Jr, W3CSW SK

    William G. Farmer, Jr. of Derwood, Maryland, passed away on April 27, 2019, at the age of 83. He was born on April 7, 1936, in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Bill leaves behind his beloved wife Magdalene of 52 years; daughter Louise Stahl and son Glen Farmer (Beth); as well as seven grandchildren - Maggie, Matthew, Michael, and Jacob Stahl; and Preston, Andrew, and Blake Farmer. He is also survived by siblings Betty Farley, Pat Greer (Jim), Nancy Wissman, and John Farmer (Carolyn); and is remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

    Bill had a 20 year career in the U.S. Navy, obtaining the rank of Master Chief before retiring in 1973. He served aboard several submarines, qualifying on the U.S.S. Growler, and received numerous awards and commendations.

    Friends may call DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

    Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery with military honors at a later day.
