    It is with great sadness I announce the passing of Ralph E. (Ty) Tyrrell - W1TF of Statham, Georgia.

    Ty was born on September 14, 1930 and passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009.

    He was licensed since 1948 and held the calls:W1TFS, W9NCF, W5INJ, OX5BT

    He was an ARRL Diamond club member and Life Member for over 50 years.

    He also belonged to the Barrow Amateur Radio Emergency Services Club (WR4BC), North American QRP Club (NAQCC) member #0298 and the Straight Key Century Club (SKCC) member #4973T

    He will be missed.
