W1HRX Special Event & Collins Collectors Association AM Night

wa9vrh writes "Hi everyone, This months CCA First Wednesday AM Night will be Special!



The James Millen Society (JMS) in cooperation with the Antique Wireless Association (AWA) will operate W1HRX September 5 through September 8, 2001 in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of James Millen's birth.


Millen's 1930's KW AM transmitter will be used during the operation on 75M AM. This will be the first time that Millen's W1HRX call sign has been used with his original transmitter since the late 1930's!



Special QSL cards will be available, business size SASE Required,
for all confirmed contacts and SWL reports. QSL to The James Millen Society, 4805 64th Ave. Kenosha, WI 53144.



Operation updates will be posted at http://www.qsl.net/jms .



W1HRX will be on 3880 or 3885 depending on
crystal/vfo availability. (we are trying for 3880)


W1HRX will on the following times:

Wednesday September 5, 2001: 4:00-5:00PM EST AM Phone
7:00-9:00PM EST AM
Phone
again on either 3880 or 3885.


This will give us all a chance to work W1HRX . When W1HRX signs off Jim
W0NKL
with pick up with the CCA AM Night Midwest section. We will then continue
on
across the country with our regular times and Net Control Stations.
