"The Kaw Valley Amateur Radio Club, W0CET, in Topeka Kansas, will be celebrating its 75th year affiliation with ARRL this year. On October 27, we will be celebrating by having an open house at the American Red Cross, in Topeka, Kansas. A banquet will be held later that night, and a special event the next day. We are one of the oldest ham clubs in the US. We are checking but, we may be older than our oldest local television station.

Our past has very strong ties with community services. Even in today's society we still proudly provide many public services We are very active in storm spotting, our local Tin-Man, and
MS-150. We are also very busy with the ARES as well. Our ARES group has been tied in with our 911 dispatch center, so we work with our local police, sheriff, and fire departments. We have helped our local law enforcement officers with lost children searches and SWAT training drills.

Our club was one of the first in the Mid-West to build a mobile communications van, we called it AMCOM and then built the second one, AMCOM II. This van has appeared a couple of times in the QST.

Our club members will be using their own call with a /75 all year on all of the bands. Listen up, and we will be happy to talk about our 75th anniversary.

More information about our club and our anniversary may be reached at our club web page: http://www.cjnetworks.com/~jzobel"
