1871 - 2021 Celebrate 150 years of Colorado Springs with us!The City of Colorado Springs is celebrating its sesquicentennial anniversary (150 years old!) in 2021, and the Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association (PPRAA) is helping to spread the word. Join us on the HF bands as we celebrate with special event station W0C on July 23 - July 31, especially on SSB, FT8, FT4, and JS8Call modes. PPRAA volunteers will be working the bands all week to spread the news of our big celebration around the world, culminating with a street festival on July 31. We will be transmitting live from the PPRAA booth at the COS150 street festival downtown, so make plans to work us especially on VHF/UHF on July 31, or come visit us in person at the festival! For a souvenir special-event QSL card, please send your card and a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association PO Box 16521 Colorado Springs, CO 80935-6521 USA Since its founding, Colorado Springs has been a picturesque destination with a skyline dominated by Pikes Peak, America's Mountain. Early settlers seeking health benefits from the dry, sunny climate established a trend that continues to the present day, in a city that's always highly ranked for health and fitness, parks and open spaces, outdoor recreation, and overall desirability to live, work, and play. Colorado Springs is also proud to support our military community (with five military bases nearby) and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center.
