    I always do that, except if the DX is listening up 5 I usually say 'He's listening up 10'.

    No reason to increase the competition. :)

    I kind of enjoy seeing the reaction when a weak DX station on FT8 is calling around 2000kHz, and I send my call on 300 kHz, for example. People are learning, but in the early days of FT8 split, it was great fun.:cool:

    I have spotted VK9MA several times both on CW and SSB but have not heard a peep. Conditions have been pretty poor with lousy propagation to the left coast. I barely heard one op on 40 meters on CW but was unable to complete a contact.

    I'm still to see them once on the waterfall. FT8 only here.

    Well stated N9NY, other morning in the early hours I was attempting to work VK9MA on 40 phone, got a contact, but no thanks to a total moron transmitting the last two letters of my call on the VK9's frequency. What pleasure did this person obtain, I ignored them and got my contact.
