I was watching some old WWII-related videos on Youtube when I found this one. I thought it would interest some of you. At the 5:30 mark, you get a good shot of an American soldier using a leg-mounted straight key. You can even make out several letters, if you watch closely.

Youtube is a treasure trove for this kind of thing.

As a boomer born not long after WWII ended, I was inundated with black and white pictures, TV shows, and movies about the war starting as a toddler to the point of becoming inured to the enormity of horrors, suffering, loss and sacrifice. Color pics and films help break though and make it seem more real.

Radioman is coding to President Roosevelt : «You'll be forever cursed if abandoning all these brave civilians and all these courageous Wehrmachtsoldaten to evilish Sowjetismus.»
