The hotspot setup and radio code plug have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
It makes no difference what you do first.
You just have to make sure the radio and hotspot both have the same frequency and other settings programmed correctly or you won't be able to hear or talk to the hotspot.

I passed my 2 exams this afternoon, finally I'm licensed (General class). Still need to wait until my call sign shows in database, about 10 days from now. Also. I have assembled the UHF/VHF MMDVM hotspot OLED+ Antenna+ Case from Ebay and the Raspberry PI 0w that I purchased from Adafruit. Loaded the Pi Star image to it and all seems to be working good however can't go further until I have my call sign and DMR ID. Bit more of patience!
    Thanks for all your help.
    W1TRY and KV6O like this.

Did the VE team tell you it would take that long?
If they file electronically it shouldn't be more than a few business days.

They told me whatever between 10 days and 2 weeks, so I guess they don't file electronically. Anyway, I will be checking daily lol!

    Congrats on passing your exams!

Was it an ARRL VE team?

It was a team of 4, one of them was like the main coordinator and the other 3 evaluated the tests so I would say yes, they were an ARRL team. Thank you!
