ok guys, i was wondering what sort of things i can use my Shortwave for. i haven't built it yet but will soon have it. obviously the main purpose is to talk to people, but is it just for discussion and emergencies or what?? are there jobs that you can get being an operator of ham radios???

Ok, well there are many uses for your shortwave radio, I am assuming a transmiter and reciever, but you can;t use the transmitter until you are liscened...
Well, there are no jobs directly in ham radio, but engineering, radio related sales, and other such buisnesses are considered close to amateur radio.
Yup, mainly its just to talk, but Many people use it to just listen, play around with electronics, play with various modes.... things like that.
well. just got back from hosstraders a few hours ago, and it is almost midnight so I'm going to rap up this post for tonight! hey, I hope i understood your question correctly, please correct me if I did not.
