Most days you'll find Beau KH7FC weighing in on the Parks on the Air social media channels, activating a park in Virginia or doing special events on the USS Wisconsin. Ever since getting turned on to ham radio while stationed in Hawaii, he's been ardent operator. Beau's vanity call, KH7FC, has personal attachment - Fire Controlman was his Navy job designation - so he kept it when returning stateside. That led to some QTH confusion earning him the unofficial, and very much in jest, moniker "The Lyin' Hawaiian." Beau is a good reminder that the hobby is attracting a younger, and very active, generation of hams. Join me in this conversation to get to know Beau Turner KH7FC.
Folks are always welcome to visit the USS Salem (CA-139) in Quincy, Massachusetts, and operate N1SLM... plus we are always looking for volunteers! Munky... don't forget to update your NTWS profile!
If visiting Oahu, Hawaii, KH6BB, USS MISSOURI, located at Ford Island near the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, has a station inside the ships radio room.
Awesome ! The Yorktown and the Laffey are at Patriots Point in Charleston Harbor - a stones throw from Ft Moultrie - I wonder if you can operate from the Laffey or Yorktown ?!
The Lyin' Hawaiian? I dunno, sounds like a questionable character to me....Good video just the same Kevin.
