The paddle was made by Dmitri EW4IDP, and is called the "Peklar." The paddle is named after the Russian polar explorer Leo Peklera. The paddle began production in 2000, and uses a single brass pivot with two springs for arm return. This paddle was followed in 2003 by Dmitri's dual-lever design called the "Zero." Also produced by Dmitri is a model called the "Almanac" and in 2009 a new design called the "Extreme" was introduced; the Extreme used a removable mechanism and fingerpieces machined into the arms. These paddles and many more (plus keyers, keyboards, and CW history) are pictured and described in my book "Compendium of Automatic Morse Code."

    Ed,
Thank you for the very nice response and historical look at this particular keyer. Are you saying that this specific model is the "Zero" by Dmitri? If so, do you have any idea of its rarity and possible value? I am helping a ham friend liquidate much of his gear and this was in the group. Thank you, de NA4DX

Your photo is the Peklar model; single lever design. I would estimate a collector would pay from $125 to perhaps $300 depending on paddle condition and how much he wanted the paddle.
