I currently have a 60 foot (including the mast) Universal aluminum tower and am wondering if I could successfully make a 80 and 40 unipole out of it. I would run 6 copper wires off set (maybe a foot or two) along the tower and have a feed point at the bottom. I would use a tuner, of course, and as many long radials in the ground as possible. My question is would the aluminum tower adversely effect performance ? There`s not much out there on Unipoles and this would be as a cost saving idea versus buying a full size 80 and 40 verticals. Only one other ham that I knew, Don, KJ3Q SK, made a 80 and 40 unipole but this was back in the 80s and I remember little about it. Any help would be appreciate. 73 Denny KF3C
