UHF duplexer issue

    Looking at your traces, both are showing noise at max réactance, this is certainly oxidization between the contact on the moving part of the cap and the tag. although this wont change the shape of the trace, the best accord will be deeper. Old diplexers and cavities often have had a lot of tweaking, and old oxidized silver plated contact points get nasty, worn, loose, dirty. wash in silverdip, move the parts and clean thoroughly with trichloréthylène to give a new lease of life.

    I think that's the noise floor of his spectrum analyzer.
