Good for you, I suppose. Still trying to figure out how a discussion of likes and dislikes is "complaining." Keep throwing money at them OM. That's, of course, your prerogative.

Who is "bashing the hell out of something," in this thread?

When do expect to unpack your new IC-705?

Ill wait for the 705MK2G model to come out first..
Looks ok but those knobs are horrible scratchy aly rubbish. Retro fit the 706 knobs and it will look and feel great.

hi David- I wonder if the IC-706 family (1,mk2,mk2G) was the biggest selling ham rig of all time? I've operated them a few times over the years. It would be neat to see a 'biggest seller list'. 73

Your guess is as good as mine! It sure seems that I know a LOT of hams who own or have owned one!

I had a 7300 and used the heck out of the Twin PBT on DX. But this new radio has a different way of adjusting the Twin PBT, and I am surprised nobody mentions the inconvenience of it.

Super happy that Yaesu designed this type of radio and is bringing it to market. No one cares what my thoughts are on the radio, what really counts is what any potential buyer thinks about it. So, I'll keep my comments to myself. hint hint Will I buy it? Not likely. I can't put my KX1 down long enough to try something else. It's always filled my need for HF portable operation.

    Way to go Yaesu...... thanks
