I have two tube testers, but I only use one, and that is to check the emmission and transconductance of the suspect tube, the final test is in circuit. The second tester is in case the first quits when needed...

With certain tubes, I have built a dedicated test stand to check and match the characteristics for transmitter and audio output tubes. Being able to set it up for power out and max frequency operation is something tube testers fall flat on. Altho, being able to test low frequency operation was cool when testing a sub woofer amp, drop off at 20 Hz operation was easy to see.
