I must've missed it. What do you have for a skyhook now?
I've seen a few used Flex 5000 at very attractive prices. What you get for the price is amazing.
In today's market the best bang for the buck is the IC-7300 (my opinion). Rumor has it that the FT-450D and FTdx1200 will soon be discontinued ... ---Layne AE1N
Which means considerable discounts. I figure that this Holiday season the sales and specials will be tremendous. New models from the big three mean great sell off prices and or rebates. Remember last year when Icom 7410's were selling for under $900. Watch HRO and buy accordingly. The new rebate programs start up in October and will probably run through the end of the year. Black Friday sales were incredible last year, and HRO had sales in their stores that weren't advertised.
I'd get the Icom IC 7300. I just got mine and that's coming from a 'used to be' Kenwood guy. The IC 7300 has a much better receiver than the TS 480 I traded in on it. It's not just the screen, it hears better.
