My Father was in the US Air Force in the 1950's. His post was at a radar station on some mountain top in Japan. I think he chose to not renew his Ham license. How might I track his call sign and see if it may be available?

Was it a ham radio call (ham license) or a MARS Callsign? If he only used it at the RADAR station, it may have been only a MARS station.

Also - if you have the name of the RADAR site, it could be useful for tracking down additional information.

Here is a site with information you might find of use

    Good luck in your search

Many old callbooks both foreign and domestic are available at Just call up something like "1952 callbook" and then the text can be searched by name. If he had a ham ticket or even one of those KA calls it should come up.
