Specifically the Yaesu FT3DR. For a workhorse radio that will be carried around a lot, how practical and durable is a touch screen on a HT radio? Its features are attractive and it has a pretty wide RX range. But the screen scares me.

Tens of millions of "workhorse" smartphones are "carried around a lot" -- and they all have touchscreens. ;)

Touch screens work OK for people with small fingers.

I have to use a pen with mine or I hit two buttons at ones.

    Girls love them. :)
