This site is constantly changing and it’s just too dam complicated. All of a sudden I can’t see the drop down menu that allows you to simply mark an item sold or pending. Not that that was clear before because it was not. You guys really should think about making this more user friendly. Especially since we’re all paying a monthly fee just to be here. Honestly it needs a complete overhaul. It’s too busy. Now w changes. And it just randomly makes me go through the complete login process occasionally for a week or so. Then all of a sudden like now I just log in automatically. Pretty frustrating. Maybe take a page literally off the QTH classifieds site. I honestly would be surprised to see this post deleted. Thx for letting me rant…. AND how do I go about posting my ads SOLD?
Hi Steve - No worries, it's fairly easy: 1. Go to your item page, and on the upper left hit the "Thread Tools" link and hit "Edit Title". 2. Pick your updated status. That's it ! And yeah - the dual authentication thing is a hassle, but offers better safety in the long run. 73 Jim, WQ2H
Sorry you are having frustration. But the menu system for marking items "SOLD" etc. has been in place for years now without a single change. We're sorry to hear you're frustrated. Please keep in mind that you can't ask for an overhaul in the same breath as complaining about changes. The forums system which is being used is years old and we're working on significant overhauls, one of which is the authentication system, but it's a very complicated platform and it isn't going to change overnight. As has been mentioned several times already, the swapmeet process for marking items sold hasn't changed in a long time. There are a lot of moving parts here and we're working on them as fast as we can while trying to minimize the disruption to your day to day QRZ service. For which I might add, you are not paying a monthly fee "just to be here" nor are "all" other users. The QRZ subscription is annual, does not auto renew, and while we appreciate your previous support, your annual subscription expired three weeks ago. 73, Steve KF8KI
As @W7UUU stated, nothing has changed. If you are seeing a change then I would look at your browser: have you added any new extensions, changed settings, deleted/blocked necessary cookies, hidden web elements, etc?
@KC5TJT Also since you are a Ham Member now and not a subscriber, you do not have access to the edit function. Your membership status must of changed since listing the ad. Ronnie NZ4X
Well that’s news I’ve not had. So don’t get a reminder to pay your subscription? If so I didn’t get it. I knew from previous experience on this site there would be some out lashing from moderators. So…. There it is. Not really a friendly exchange or maybe I’m just taking it that way? So you make it where a non subscriber can post FA ads but can’t edit the title if their subscription runs out? And I have $2.99 a month charges coming out from QRZ. I did change cards a few months back. That could be it BUT I had no idea. So do you think in all this mess I’m double paying?
I don't think there was any "lashing out:" just some observations/advice/guidance. QRZ doesn't offer monthly subscriptions: is it possible that you did one of those "divide this charge into 12 equal payments" (or something similar) offered by many credit cards for purchases over a set amount? Any of the moderators would be happy to mark as "Sold" whatever item you have listed that did sell, or you can renew your membership and do it yourself. If you want one of the moderators to take care of it, just let us know which item(s) was sold. 73 de DW
