Originally from Dodson, LA, Tom lived the last few years of his life in West Monroe, LA where he was extremely active in Ham Radio.

Tom was licensed as KD5YX in 1986; however, most know him by his more recent call signs of N5KWB or WD5TL.

As a ham, Tom devoted much of his life to amateur radio and served as the Louisiana Section Traffic Manager, a Volunteer Examiner (VE), net manager (for numerous nets), Assistant Emergency Coordinator for Ouachita Parish ARES, webmaster for the Twin City Ham Club, and countless other positions.

Tom was always there to volunteer his time to help others get interested and licensed in amateur radio, but most importantly he was a friend in the truest of definitions.

Tom battled pain and physical challenges and in his lifetime (more than most ever will) but he never let that keep his spirits down - keeping a perpetual smile on his face and strong determination. No matter how bad he may have felt, he was always there to help his friends, always striving to see the positive over the negative in life.

To those that knew him, you will know that this was just the way Tom was and his upbeat attitude on life in lieu of the inevitable is what we should all model our lives after.

Tom has been a inspiration in my life and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he touched the lives of all that knew him.

We love and miss you dear friend -

    God Bless !
