Just curious to see if this is normal or not.
Kenwood TL922 - when on 1.8/3.5 MHZ after dipping plate in order to get max drive the load control goes back as far as zero.

Is this normal for the lower bands?
If not what could the problem be? On the other bands this is not a problem. I thought it may be because those bands are quite broad they are difficult to get a tune?

Not unusual if you don't drive the amplifier to "full power" (like 250 mA Ig and 800 mA Ip, which yields 1000W output power).

At reduced drive and power levels, it's common for the LOAD capacitor to not have sufficient range and the dial setting would be "0."

I recall this occurring previously when I used a 250 watt dummy load - thanks for jogging my memory!
